"Cottonwood Beach"

This beach is neat because in the spring the water comes up into the cottonwoods on the beach. This is also where the seasonal "creek" to the swamp is. In the spring the water gets high enough to flow over the beach and fill the swamp in the middle of the island. Salmon and carp fry swim into the swamp to avoid preditary fish in the river, but have to deal with the herons, ducks, geese and cormorants that hang out in the swamp. The fry also have to leave the swamp before the spring floods recede and leave them trapped in the swamp, where they can't possibly last until the next spring flood.
