Here we are looking up-river, on the left is a public access beach called Frenchmans Bar Beach. You can see that this is an anchorage area for ships waiting to load or unload at one of the many port terminals a little further up river. Sometimes they wait weeks for all their cargo to arrive at the terminal. You can see that the ships are pointed (more or less) towards us, so that must mean the tide is coming in. If you look at the center of the picture you can see an airplane flipped over on his side. This shot was taken on the last day of the Rose Festival Air Show, and after this guy's aerial show was over, he came out to the river to show off for every ship and boat at anchor, including us.
